    Winter and Warmth!

The Luna Triangle Cowl Where would I be without this squishy cowl? I can tell you, I would be freezing! I finished this cowl about a month ago and it was just in time for all sorts of crazy weather. The weather guys were all saying that we were supposed to get 2-4″ of snow on the 14th. Snow big deal, right?? (See what I did? Snow instead of no. No? Ok, sorry! Lol.) Well, we ended up with about a foot of snow. School was closed for two days. It was amazing! And I stayed warm! This cowl works up very quickly. It calls for bulky yarn that requires…

A little bit of yarn.. A whole lot of change!!

Phew, has it been crazy around here. We finally got moved and settled down about three weeks ago. I am loving the house we have and I’m beginning to get back into the swing of things. I’ve crocheted a few things here and there but I really want to talk about the Phoebe set. You guys remember the Brooklyn set I made last year, right? I made a personal set of the ear warmer, fingerless gloves and cowl. It is such an amazing set. I still have it and wear it often. This year, my friend worked up a pattern for a new set, The Phoebe! I tested the hat,…

    Kaia Kimono

I am so excited to show you guys this pattern. I tested it for Denimade and she did not disappoint on this one. But then, she NEVER disappoints. This pattern was a L/XL and took only 7 skeins of I Love This Cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby. I also used an I and K hook, scissors and a needle. Oh, and a tape measure. So, what exactly is a Kimono? A kimono is a formal Japanese robe. It’s generally long and has wide sleeves and tied with a sash. There are so many varieties of kimonos out there now days and I feel like this one is perfect. Just look…

Valentina Beanie: Time to get festive for Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day!    Who loves Valentine’s Day? This girl right here does!   It’s one of my favorite holidays. All the hearts, candy, flowers (not roses though), chocolate, and steak with baked potatoes are perfect for my soul and make my heart happy. I love Valentine’s Day so much that I decided to get married on that day. This year marks 11 years I’ve been married with my wonderful husband.  I was really excited when Deni had this beanie to test. I knew I couldn’t just use any yarn with it so I went and bought some Red Heart Ombre yarn in their Jazzy color. I had my eye on…

Brooklyn Fingerless Gloves… Do you like them?

As some of you know already, I am a pattern tester for some of the gals on FB. There’s one in particular that I love testing for, Denisse Sharpe. You can find her over on Facebook at DeniMade.  I had the pleasure of working up her Brooklyn Fingerless Gloves over the weekend and let me tell you… THEY ARE AMAZING! I don’t usually care for fingerless gloves but these are so awesome that I have worn them all weekend.  The gloves are part of her Brooklyn collection. She’s got the a beanie, slouch hat, messy bun hat, ear warmers, cowl, and now the gloves.   Check them out 🙂    And…
