Crochet

Continuing my photo challenge journey

I know, I know. It’s day 12 and I’m just now posting days 4-8. I can promise you though that if you look on my Instagram that I am caught up. If you have not read about my first four days you can find them here, Monthly Photo Challenges Day 1-4. Now let’s move along to days 5-8.

Day 5: Fave Place To Craft

I have a love/hate relationship with this chair. You can kinda see how comfortable it is when you recline and it is. It’s amazing to take a nap in. And it used to be a great chair to sit and crochet in. But it’s broke…. The handle on the side of it that you push back broke years ago so I put a pair of vice grips on it and that’s what we use. That was an easy fix. Then I noticed a few weeks ago that there was a broken spring on the floor under it. And that’s when all the problems started. It leans back more than it should and I can’t sit up the way I need to so I can crochet. Ugh. This is my chair. I sit in it  every day but now it’s time to get a new one.

Day 6: Stash Flash

This is where I keep my yarn, up in my bedroom. I originally started with keeping my yarn in a tote and then I had to get two totes. I talked about getting some sort of storage unit for it but couldn’t decide on what to buy. Then I found this dresser on the side of the road with a FREE sign on it. I had to run back and grab the Enclave  (this was before we had the truck) and my husband so I could pick it up. We got it home and within a week we had it all cleaned up and painted a very pretty sea foam green. This color will always have a place in my heart.  I went to my Jr. prom in my grandma’s dress and it was this color. It didn’t take long before I ran out of room in my dresser and was storing my yarn in totes again. I bought a set of cubes to go on top of my dresser to hold more yarn. It works really well. On the top left you can see that I have my WIPs. Then I have Impeccable yarn, and then the chunky yarn, and Red Heart. You get the point! I have my cubed organized by yarn brands. I have all of my looms, my yarn winder  and everything in the boxes on top.

Day 7: Proud Moments

I have so much to say about this one but I promise I will keep it short. When I first started crocheting, my son asked me if I would make him a blanket. Without even thinking about it I told him YES. We went to the store and he picked out his colors. I learned only one thing while making his blanket and that was the I HATE MAKING BLANKETS. It took me TWO years to make it and it’s not even a full size blanket. It’s wide enough to go over a twin bed but only goes up half way. It is now an afghan 🙂 He loves it though. If you check out my Instagram post, you can see that he immediately wrapped up Baby in it and then he carried them both off to his room. The blanket is still on his bed with his stuffed animals in his sacred spot. It was one of my most proudest moments.

Day 8: My Project Pals

Of course my pals are going to be my animals. They are here with me all day long. I have one dog and four guinea pigs. You can see the rest of the photos here on this Instagram post. My dog, Jasper, is always at my feet. Unless I have my chair reclined and then he’s under my chair. My pigs stay in their house for the most part while I’m crocheting because they shed so much. I get them out when and let them sit with me when I’m not crocheting. I have a few of them who like to chew on the yarn if they are next to it.. Naughty piggies. They are my babies.

Make sure you stay tuned for the next four days. Yes, they are already up on my Instagram. I will post them on Monday here and go more in depth with each photo though. I’d love to hear from you so leave a comment. If you’d like to stay updated make sure you subscribe to my emails. I promise I won’t sell your email or spam you. All it does is send you an email directing you to my newest post. You just never know when I will have a giveaway or a coupon for one of my items.
