Best Friends Day.. a free candle cozy pattern

There is nothing better than a best friend. God put them on this earth to be there for us no matter what is going on. They are the most supportive people in your corner. They know when we’re upset and are always willing to hide a body for you. I mean, am I right? Or am I right? Not that we’re all out hiding bodies or anything…. LOL. They also know how to have a good laugh with you. And let’s be honest, they’re also the first person to laugh AT you or tell you that you’re wrong.

They are so important that Best Friends’ have been given an official day to celebrate and that is June 8th.

I have two best friends. One is in Maine (Beka) and one is right here in town (Micki). I couldn’t get through most days without texting/talking to one, if not both, of them. This year we’re going to celebrate with one of the things a girl loves, candles. And a candle cozy to go with the candle.

The M.B. Candle Cozy pattern is designed for a standard 4” candle. I get them from Aldi and Walmart. I made this specifically for the 7 weight in mind since we’ve all been buying the Loops & Thread Eco Tie Dye yarn and have that pattern available for free here on my blog. I have also added three other weights of yarn to the pattern so everyone can use whatever yarn they have at home.. The complete set of directions for all four different weights (4,5,6 and 7) can be found on Ravelry. Just click the link below.

So, let’s get to the pattern…

The tag is a 2” tag from Idaho Taylor Made.

Notes:

  • CH 1 does not count as a stitch
  • Hook: 8 mm hook or any size to obtain gauge, First 3 rounds = 4”
  • Yarn: 7 weight (approx 35 yards) – I used Loops and Thread Eco Tie Dye in Hang Loose Hues color
  • You will also need: scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker, 2″ faux leather tag
