Crochet,  The Life Of A Crocheter

A New Chapter at Manda’s Crafty Corner

If you’ve been around for a while, you’ve probably noticed something changing around here. The colors feel darker. The creatures a little stranger. The vibes a little more forest-at-dusk than bright-and-bubbly craft fair.

That’s not an accident.

This year, I’m officially reintroducing Manda’s Crafty Corner. It’s not as something completely new, but as something far more me. If you’ve really looked at my booth throughout the years, you probably seen this coming. The reintroduction will be at the Blue Ridge Arts & Crafts Festival & Earth Fest.

Why the Rebrand?

For a long time, I tried to tuck myself neatly into a version of crafting that felt safe and expected. Cute makes sell well. Polished is comfortable. But the truth is, my heart has always belonged to the weird corners—the folklore, the monsters, the cryptids, the things that feel like they crawled out of moss and old stories.

This rebrand is about claiming myself fully as a maker.

I love Celtic influences, dark creatures, gargoyles, impkins, three-headed monsters, forest beings, and the kind of magic that feels ancient instead of sparkly. I love pieces that feel like companions, guardians, or little bits of legend you can hold in your hands. That’s what I want my work, as well as this space, to reflect.

What’s Changing

You’ll start seeing:

  • More cryptid and folklore-inspired designs
  • Darker, moodier visuals and storytelling
  • Pieces that feel enchanted, protective, and a little feral
  • More behind-the-scenes, real-life making (mess and all)

This also means leaning into progress over perfection. You don’t need a spotless studio or a perfectly curated feed to create meaningful things. And honestly, I’m done pretending otherwise. I used to clear out spaces to create a well set up day in the life photo. That’s not really a day in the life, is it?

What’s Staying the Same

At its core, Manda’s Crafty Corner is still about:

  • Crafting with intention
  • Building community
  • Creating things that make you feel seen, cozy, or brave enough to be your weird self

I’m still just me. Crocheting, designing, experimenting, learning, and inviting you along for the ride.

An Invitation

If you love folklore, forest monsters, cozy chaos, and handmade items that feel like they have a story to tell then you’re in the right place.

Thank you for being here, for growing with me, and for letting this space evolve. This next chapter feels powerful, grounded, and very, very real.

Welcome to the darker woods 🌲✨
