Magic & Maypoles: My Whimsical Weekend at Bringing in the May 2026

I am still under the spell of last weekend at Bringing in the May in Berkeley Springs, WV. It wasn’t just a festival; it was like stepping through a portal into a world of pure whimsy. This was my first year as a vendor, and I am beyond thrilled to share that I’ve already been invited back for next year! From stilt walkers and fae folk to sudden storms that tested our spirit, the weekend was an absolute whirlwind—and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

A Whimsical Saturday

Bringing in the May felt like I was stepping straight into another world. Saturday definitely tested us when the rain and horrible wind rolled through about 3:30 pm which forced a bunch of us to pack up early. But even the rain couldn’t take away from how whimsical and amazing the whole weekend felt. Everywhere you looked there were stilt walkers, fairies, fae folk, flowers, horns, wings and the most incredible outfits. The vibe was pure magic. The maypole dancing was my favorite part of each day.

Sunny Sunday & Community

Sunday brought the complete opposite weather with sunshine and HEAT. It was still a great day though. I met so many wonderful people, made new friends, and laughed so much. I’m so happy I got to be a part of such a creative and welcoming community. Events like this remind me why I love doing what I do. I’m already counting down until I get to return next year.

Have you ever attended a festival that felt like stepping into another world? I’d love to hear about your favorite whimsical events in the comments!
