Thinking back on the year…
and moving on to next year. So, I’m sitting here at the local coffee shop with my White Chocolate Mocha and the newest retest pattern I’m working on trying to get things done while my daughter is across the street at the movies and I’ve been thinking…. Where has this year gone? It’s Dec 31st and it seems like I haven’t gotten anything done that I wanted to do this year. I admit, this year has been extremely hard. We’ve had a surgery to mend back to health and then my mom got real sick and passed away. That took a good chunk of the last half of the year.…

Velvet hair scrunchies.. and migraines.
Hey everyone. I know it’s been a long while since you’ve seen me on here and I’m sorry for that. Things have been super busy with summer wrapping up and then school and co-op starting. I’m also having more migraines than normal lately. I’m trying real hard not to have to take my preventative meds again but we’ll see… I want to talk about crochet velvet hair scrunchies. I’m a little late getting on that band wagon because I just didn’t know if it was going to be something I wanted to make or if they even worked. Let me tell you, they work. And they’re pretty awesome if you…

Hanging Baskets… A free crochet pattern
I made a few baskets a couple weeks ago and I’ve been sitting on the pattern because I just didn’t like the way they looked. Then the end of the school year was upon us, I went to the dentist, and got a sinus infection. Life hit me hard!!! But, I finally got the time this afternoon to rework the pattern. It was such a beautiful day out that I sat outside for the majority of the afternoon and worked these up within a few hours. These baskets come in two different sizes: small and large. Here’s what you will need: Bernat Maker Home Dec yarn I (5.5 mm) hook…

Dragon Wing Shawl
I found a beautiful pattern for the Dragon Wing Shawl over on YouTube. It’s done by Fiber Spider but, unfortunately, he does not have a written pattern. I thought I would help some of you out with that. I am not writing out the whole pattern so you will need to go check out his video HERE. That is where you’ll get most of your info. The Dragon Wing Shawl is a big repeat of itself and worked in segments. You’ll start to see it on Row 3. The repeats are below in two parts. On one side of shawl you are increasing. You put 2 dc, 1 dc, 2…

Mug Rugs…. a free crochet pattern
I’m not sure where I’ve been but these mug rugs are absolutely adorable. They’re basically a coaster but bigger. I’ve checked around for a pattern but nothing really caught my attention. I made my own and decided to share it with everyone. I also decided to learn a new stitch, the herringbone half double crochet. This stitch is so pretty and I will be using this more in the future. I love the knot effect it leaves. You will need: An H hook Cotton yarn (I used I Love This Cotton in Curry) Tapestry needle Scissors Special stitches: FSC: Foundation Single Crochet. You can find out how to do the…

Willow Kimono
I had the pleasure of working up a pattern for Denisse and I am so thrilled with how it turned out. The Willow Kimono is definitely rocking it! It’s is hands down in my top three favorites of mine to make. It’s light, airy, and hangs over your shoulders beautifully. You can wear it with anything. It’s perfect with long sleeves, short sleeves and even a tank top. First, I’d like to talk about the yarn I used for the Willow Kimono. I used the Yarn Bee Luxe Lollies. I’m sure you’ve heard some bad things about this yarn but it’s not all true. I did have a hard time…

Busy with Vinyl
Things have been very busy here. Who knew you could do so much with a Cricut and some vinyl? I’m still learning something new about my Cricut every day and I didn’t know just how busy I would become. It all started when I bought some buckets and water bottles to add some names to. I figured I’d sell a few to make a bit of extra cash and then it exploded! Haha. The water bottles have been such a huge hit, everyone wants one. Here are a few I’ve made recently. I’ve also made a ton of baskets. Most have been Easter baskets but with normal designs. Nobody wants…
