The Best of Summer Wearables round up.
Summer is here and so is the hot weather. Most crocheters put their hook down during the summer because it’s just too hot to crochet. And I agree 100% with doing that. I could not crochet a blanket in the summer with the heavy weight of it sitting on my lap day after day. Thankfully, we don’t have to put our hooks down anymore. We can now make hot summer trendy clothing articles. Here is a list of cute pieces of clothing that you can make now and wear all summer long. Some of these items are paid patterns and some are free patterns. Are you ready to take a…

Lakeside Cover Up…. free pattern
It’s official… summer is here to stay. It was in the 80s today and I can already tell I’m going to die this summer. It’s time to hit the lake for afternoons of swimming, snacking and lounging in the shade. I have teamed up with Michelle Ferguson over at Two Brothers Blankets and am her guest blogger for the month of June. I designed a swimsuit cover up that is perfect to throw around your waist when you’re spending the day at the lake or pool. You can easily throw it over your shoulders when you’re ready to leave if you’d like. It can be worn either way. All you…

A bit of warmth (and a beaded bottle carrier)
Wow, has it been a crazy month. I’ve got one kid who’s going through the college admission process and one who is just wrapping up homeschool co-op and the school year. I wanted to get this pattern out to you on Earth Day but that just wasn’t going to happen. I’m only four days late on it but that’s OK. I won’t give you a novel to read before the pattern so here it is… If you would like to purchase the pdf of this pattern you can find it on Ravelry HERE. This will allow you to print it off and keep it in your files if anything were…

Christmas is coming…
Does anyone else get this overwhelming feeling when you realize that Christmas is only 5 days away? I was definitely feeling the strain for about four weeks. I usually have my ducks in a row and everything done by Halloween but I didn’t even start my shopping until the second week of Nov. I just finished up buying presents on Saturday and wrapped ALL of the presents on Friday. It was definitely a struggle. LOL But, can we talk about crocheting for a bit? I decided I wanted new stockings this year and instead of buying them on Amazon for $20 a set, I started crocheting stockings for the family.…

CJ Shell Cowl
Fall is coming… And with fall comes the pumpkin spice, apple cider, sweaters, bonfires, ear warmers, boots and cowls. It’s my favorite time of the year. I’m a HUGE fan of fall and there is nothing better than pairing up a cowl and ear warmer set to match your outfit. I have been very busy the last several weeks with jotting down new designs and setting up a plan to get them out to you all. I’ve got an infinity cowl, bulky ear warmer, slouch hat and a few sets of fingerless gloves written out. Now, I just have to find the time to get them worked up and sent…

Pamela Fingerless Gloves
I’m sitting here on my back deck trying to figure out how to write this blog post and I can’t help but cry a bit as I type. Today is pattern release day for my Pamela Fingerless Gloves. If you guys remember, I wrote a pattern for the Pamela Scarf back in March. That was one of the hardest things I did since I am making this set in memory of my late mom, Pam. There were a lot of tears and phone calls with my sister on that one. The healing process has started and I don’t cry nearly as much as I used to but it’s still hard.…

Quarantine Day: 4,673……
Can you believe it’s only been TWO MONTHS since this whole “quarantine”, “lockdown”, “shutdown”, “social distancing”, business started? Crazy, isn’t it? It just all seems so surreal at times. In March, Gwyneth Paltrow said that we need to take this enforced isolation and turn it into an opportunity to write a book, learn how to play an instrunment, or learn a new language perhaps. HMM….. I’m not sure I’m that ambitious. But, many people have stepped up and made the most of this and I’m proud of those people. My friend, Beka, is a Librarian and is reading children’s books every on FB. They’re so adorable. I have so much…

Earth Day Tote… a free crochet pattern.
Earth Day…. This year Earth Day brings on a whole new meaning. More than ever, we are learning to appreciate the earth and what it does for us by going about things a bit differently then we’re used to. I’m pretty active on social media and I’m seeing more people planting gardens, buying live stock, and they’re beginning to barter with others which cuts down on a lot of unnecessary plastic packaging. All of that is great and I really hope we can continue to do this after things get back up and running. But until then, let’s focus on a few smaller things that we can control now like…
