Christmas is coming…
Does anyone else get this overwhelming feeling when you realize that Christmas is only 5 days away? I was definitely feeling the strain for about four weeks. I usually have my ducks in a row and everything done by Halloween but I didn’t even start my shopping until the second week of Nov. I just finished up buying presents on Saturday and wrapped ALL of the presents on Friday. It was definitely a struggle. LOL But, can we talk about crocheting for a bit? I decided I wanted new stockings this year and instead of buying them on Amazon for $20 a set, I started crocheting stockings for the family.…

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours! Can you believe the year is almost over? It’s been a very stressful one for sure. I do have quite a bit of things to be thankful though. My family is healthy and we are pushing through everything life has thrown at us so far. I hope you guys have been doing well. I also took the plunge and started designing crochet patterns in February and now have seven patterns in my Ravelry store. As we head into the busiest shopping weekend of the year, I would like to take a moment to share with you guys that all of my patterns on…

Hat Not Hate.. an anti-bullying campaign
I don’t know if you’ve heard or not but there’s this really neat campaign called Hat Not Hate. A bunch of us crafters are uniting and donating our time and blue hats to the cause. There’s even a great FB group that is run by a great group of creators that are dedicated to the cause. It’s awesome. I’m sure you want more info so I’m going to tell you all about it so keep reading. What is Hat Not Hate? Hat not Hate is a campaign started by Lion Brand, a yarn company, in 2018. It was started to bring awareness to bullying. They are encouraging people to make…

Quarantine Day: 4,673……
Can you believe it’s only been TWO MONTHS since this whole “quarantine”, “lockdown”, “shutdown”, “social distancing”, business started? Crazy, isn’t it? It just all seems so surreal at times. In March, Gwyneth Paltrow said that we need to take this enforced isolation and turn it into an opportunity to write a book, learn how to play an instrunment, or learn a new language perhaps. HMM….. I’m not sure I’m that ambitious. But, many people have stepped up and made the most of this and I’m proud of those people. My friend, Beka, is a Librarian and is reading children’s books every on FB. They’re so adorable. I have so much…

Valentine’s Day Crochet Pattern {little projects that show a lot of love}
The holidays are behind us and now it’s time to bring out the pink and red hearts. LOVE IS IN THE AIR!! Have you started thinking about ways to show the people you love just how much you care? You don’t need an expensive trip or shiny piece of jewelry to give them. A cute pink bag filled with kisses (chocolate, that is) and maybe movie tickets would be a great idea for the movie lover in your life. What about a cute pink (or blue, green or purple) Valentina Beanie? It’s still winter for a lot of people. I’m going to show you 10 easy pattern that you can…

Thinking back on the year…
and moving on to next year. So, I’m sitting here at the local coffee shop with my White Chocolate Mocha and the newest retest pattern I’m working on trying to get things done while my daughter is across the street at the movies and I’ve been thinking…. Where has this year gone? It’s Dec 31st and it seems like I haven’t gotten anything done that I wanted to do this year. I admit, this year has been extremely hard. We’ve had a surgery to mend back to health and then my mom got real sick and passed away. That took a good chunk of the last half of the year.…

Busy with Vinyl
Things have been very busy here. Who knew you could do so much with a Cricut and some vinyl? I’m still learning something new about my Cricut every day and I didn’t know just how busy I would become. It all started when I bought some buckets and water bottles to add some names to. I figured I’d sell a few to make a bit of extra cash and then it exploded! Haha. The water bottles have been such a huge hit, everyone wants one. Here are a few I’ve made recently. I’ve also made a ton of baskets. Most have been Easter baskets but with normal designs. Nobody wants…

Custom orders and more!
I love it when I get custom orders from people. The whole process is exciting. I get the initial message saying “hey, can you make this?”. It’s usually got a link to go with it. I say “sure, all I need is your choice of colors”. Then it just goes from there. The most exciting part of it all is hearing the stories behind why they want me to make something. Here are two of my recent orders. This is a Wonder Woman doll made for a really brave little girl. She’s just a few months old and is still in the hospital fighting for her life. She’s been through…

Christmas in July
Do I have any Christmas fanatics here? Please tell me I’m not the only one? I am so excited that today kicked off Hallmark’s Christmas in July. You can find the entire list of movies right here. I am currently watching Miss Christmas. Do you see my Christmas countdown ornament? Yeah, it stays out all year round! It’s my favorite ornament. Actually, it’s a tie between that and my crystal mistletoe that I got on vacation years ago. It stays out all year round, too. My daughter tells me it doesn’t even count as a Christmas decoration because of how long it’s been out. This is the only time I…
