• Reusable Crochet Water Balloons

These have been around for a few years now but I never got on the bandwagon, until now… AND I’M LOVING THEM! I know everyone loves a good water balloon fight, right? But how many of you love spending an hour filling 50 balloons then running through them in two minutes just to spend a week picking up all the balloon remnants off the ground? Yeah, me neither and let’s not mention having to tie those bad boys!!! Pure torture! I break at least two nails and have one good blister when I’m done. Well, not any more! I found an amazing tutorial on reusable crochet water balloons from Left…

  • Mother’s Day surprises…. Laughter and tears were involved.

I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day this past Sunday. My day was fantastic and I was spoiled by my family. Many of you know that my son has had a really rough time the past few years in school and I pulled him out in March to homeschool. I had a rough day last week and it took a village to help me through it. Saturday night my son sat down to make me Mother’s Day card and said I was going to LOVE it. If anyone knows him, he is so full of jokes and pranks that I couldn’t even imagine what he came up with when…

  • Monthly Photo Challenges… do you like them?

I love monthly photo challenges but I am so bad at keeping up with them. If you follow any of the crocheters on Instagram you’ll see everyone using the #makersmay everywhere. It’s because lovecrochetcom put up a new challenge at the beginning of the month and they’re offering a large prize to one lucky winner to someone who posts a photo a day. You can find the photo here -> https://www.instagram.com/p/BiIaPnbFamS/.  You have to tag them and hashtag makersmay. I have already fallen behind (no shocker there) and am constantly playing catch up. It then occurred to me that I should be posting it here as well and talking more…

  • Homeschool! The good, the bad and the ugly..

Today is day 3 of my son being homeschooled. We are still in the learning and adjusting phase of doing school work at home. Things do not flow smoothly yet but I have high hopes that they will. Today started off so well! Caleb wanted to do Science first and then we moved on to Social Studies.  We learned about personal and civic life and what goes on with each. He wanted to write a letter to the Mayor about how terrible school lunches and how they can make them better. He may not be in the public school system anymore but  he’s advocating for all the other kids who…

  • Homeschool, snow days… and stuff!!!!

We’ve been having issues with my son’s school since  the beginning of the year. We had so many problems with them when our daughter was there we knew it was a terrible school. The Principal is lazy and the Vice Principal is a nasty man. We had even tried to transfer schools at the beginning of the year and the principals wouldn’t let me. After several missing grades (both my kid and teachers fault), many phone calls, very few call backs and tousands of tears, I decided to go to a Intro Into Homeschooling meeting last Friday. I loved it. The homeschool vibe is so welcoming. I went to a…

  • The start of something bigger.

The time has come…. to venture off of FB and start pursuing other avenues to branch out on my business. I’m not big on Twitter and I don’t really manual pin on Pinterest so my other real choice is to blog. I could use Instagram but it’s mainly used for photos and I talk a lot… I mean A LOT! I figure blogging would be a great way for me to put all of my skills to use. I can post my photos, tell you guys a story and keep everything all in one place. So, let me introduce myself. I’m Amanda. I love to crochet. I started out making…
