• Lakeside Cover Up…. free pattern

It’s official… summer is here to stay. It was in the 80s today and I can already tell I’m going to die this summer. It’s time to hit the lake for afternoons of swimming, snacking and lounging in the shade. I have teamed up with Michelle Ferguson over at Two Brothers Blankets and am her guest blogger for the month of June. I designed a swimsuit cover up that is perfect to throw around your waist when you’re spending the day at the lake or pool. You can easily throw it over your shoulders when you’re ready to leave if you’d like. It can be worn either way. All you…

  • CJ Shell Cowl

Fall is coming… And with fall comes the pumpkin spice, apple cider, sweaters, bonfires, ear warmers, boots and cowls. It’s my favorite time of the year. I’m a HUGE fan of fall and there is nothing better than pairing up a cowl and ear warmer set to match your outfit. I have been very busy the last several weeks with jotting down new designs and setting up a plan to get them out to you all. I’ve got an infinity cowl, bulky ear warmer, slouch hat and a few sets of fingerless gloves written out. Now, I just have to find the time to get them worked up and sent…

  • Pamela Fingerless Gloves

I’m sitting here on my back deck trying to figure out how to write this blog post and I can’t help but cry a bit as I type. Today is pattern release day for my Pamela Fingerless Gloves. If you guys remember, I wrote a pattern for the Pamela Scarf back in March. That was one of the hardest things I did since I am making this set in memory of my late mom, Pam. There were a lot of tears and phone calls with my sister on that one. The healing process has started and I don’t cry nearly as much as I used to but it’s still hard.…

  • Quarantine Day: 4,673……

Can you believe it’s only been TWO MONTHS since this whole “quarantine”, “lockdown”, “shutdown”, “social distancing”, business started? Crazy, isn’t it? It just all seems so surreal at times. In March, Gwyneth Paltrow said that we need to take this enforced isolation and turn it into an opportunity to write a book, learn how to play an instrunment, or learn a new language perhaps. HMM….. I’m not sure I’m that ambitious. But, many people have stepped up and made the most of this and I’m proud of those people. My friend, Beka, is a Librarian and is reading children’s books every on FB. They’re so adorable. I have so much…

  • Hanging Baskets… A free crochet pattern

I made a few baskets a couple weeks ago and I’ve been sitting on the pattern because I just didn’t like the way they looked. Then the end of the school year was upon us, I went to the dentist, and got a sinus infection. Life hit me hard!!! But, I finally got the time this afternoon to rework the pattern. It was such a beautiful day out that I sat outside for the majority of the afternoon and worked these up within a few hours. These baskets come in two different sizes: small and large. Here’s what you will need: Bernat Maker Home Dec yarn I (5.5 mm) hook…

  • Dragon Wing Shawl

I found a beautiful pattern for the Dragon Wing Shawl over on YouTube. It’s done by Fiber Spider but, unfortunately, he does not have a written pattern. I thought I would help some of you out with that. I am not writing out the whole pattern so you will need to go check out his video HERE. That is where you’ll get most of your info. The Dragon Wing Shawl is a big repeat of itself and worked in segments. You’ll start to see it on Row 3. The repeats are below in two parts. On one side of shawl you are increasing. • Willow Kimono

I had the pleasure of working up a pattern for Denisse and I am so thrilled with how it turned out. The Willow Kimono is definitely rocking it! It’s is hands down in my top three favorites of mine to make. It’s light, airy, and hangs over your shoulders beautifully. You can wear it with anything. It’s perfect with long sleeves, short sleeves and even a tank top. First, I’d like to talk about the yarn I used for the Willow Kimono. I used the Yarn Bee Luxe Lollies. I’m sure you’ve heard some bad things about this yarn but it’s not all true. I did have a hard time…
