New Stitch #2
The Loop Stitch! I’m sitting here at the mall food court waiting for my daughter to get done with her friends at the movies and I’ve realized two things. One, this mall is extremely full of teeny boppers just walking aimlessly around with their heads down playing on their phones. Two, I have not done my second new stitch post this month (Gasp!!). So, I’m going to continue sitting in this insanely uncomfortable seat and talk to you guys. The loop stitch was absolutely amazing. I have to say that it’s my all time favorite stitch. It’s so beautiful and has so much texture. My best friend, Beka, shared a…

Crocheting For a Cause
A few days ago, a local non-profit group let us know that they were in a critical situation and posted that a local hospital NICU was in urgent need of 35-40 Valentine themed hats and small blankets. I knew I had to help. Now, if you know me, you know I LOVE Valentine’s Day. I love all the pretty red and pink decorations, the heart candy, truffles, etc. A lot of people don’t like the holiday because it’s just made up by companies to get you to spend money and you shouldn’t need a holiday to get your someone special a card or flowers. I get that and I respect…

A little bit of yarn.. A whole lot of change!!
Phew, has it been crazy around here. We finally got moved and settled down about three weeks ago. I am loving the house we have and I’m beginning to get back into the swing of things. I’ve crocheted a few things here and there but I really want to talk about the Phoebe set. You guys remember the Brooklyn set I made last year, right? I made a personal set of the ear warmer, fingerless gloves and cowl. It is such an amazing set. I still have it and wear it often. This year, my friend worked up a pattern for a new set, The Phoebe! I tested the hat,…

Crochet Ballet Slippers and Non Slip Soles!
How’s everyone doing? Things have been quiet around here but I’ve been busy behind the scenes. I have been making slippers and reading. I got hooked on a really good book and couldn’t put it down. We’ll talk about that later though. So, can I just tell you how awesome these slippers are? They’re amazing!!! Just check them out! I got the pattern over at Heart Hook Home. She’s got a pattern for regular worsted weight yarn and chunky yarn for teen/women. And then she’s got a pattern for men in chunky yarn. You can alter this pattern for any size foot that you need to. All you do is…

Kaia Kimono
I am so excited to show you guys this pattern. I tested it for Denimade and she did not disappoint on this one. But then, she NEVER disappoints. This pattern was a L/XL and took only 7 skeins of I Love This Cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby. I also used an I and K hook, scissors and a needle. Oh, and a tape measure. So, what exactly is a Kimono? A kimono is a formal Japanese robe. It’s generally long and has wide sleeves and tied with a sash. There are so many varieties of kimonos out there now days and I feel like this one is perfect. Just look…

Monthly Photo Challenges… do you like them?
I love monthly photo challenges but I am so bad at keeping up with them. If you follow any of the crocheters on Instagram you’ll see everyone using the #makersmay everywhere. It’s because lovecrochetcom put up a new challenge at the beginning of the month and they’re offering a large prize to one lucky winner to someone who posts a photo a day. You can find the photo here -> https://www.instagram.com/p/BiIaPnbFamS/. You have to tag them and hashtag makersmay. I have already fallen behind (no shocker there) and am constantly playing catch up. It then occurred to me that I should be posting it here as well and talking more…

Crochet Unicorns… A magic all their own!
Unicorns are the most mystical and beautiful creatures and they are all the rage right now!! You can find them on everything from pillows, ear buds, make up brushes to cereal and unicorn meat 😳. Don’t believe me? Look it up! I promise there’s a photo out there of it. It’s not real but it’s still funny! Lol There’s a lot of buzz going around about the amazing Lavender unicorns from Stitch Witch Creations on FB so I thought I’d show you guys what I’ve made by her patterns. I started making her unicorns last year and they are so gorgeous and work up super easy. Ok, so let’s start…

Grab-N-Go Tic Tac Toe
This is my first (and maybe only) free pattern by me, Manda. I was looking at all the cool tic tac toe bags that everyone was posting for Valentine’s Day and I just couldn’t find one that I liked well enough so I decided to make my own. This bag is big enough it won’t get lost but small enough it can fit in just about any bag and little kids can carry it. It’s great to pull out when you are at the Dr office waiting to be called back, waiting for your food at a restaurant, in the car on a trip or just waiting for someone to…

Rhea Cowl
Good Morning. I hope everyone had a great weekend and is getting ready to have an amazing week. Let’s talk about big, bulky and beautiful! I tested this incredible pattern for Denisse Sharpe over at DeniMade and she did not let me down. The Rhea Cowl is a cowl and a hood all in one and I am in love with it.. It took 4 skeins of yarn ( I bought ILTY from Hobby Lobby), a J hook, and a bunch of puff and v stitches. Along with a few other things as well. It measures 31 inches long and 17.5 inches wide on the bottom part. You may think…
